Allergen Details:

Allergen name: Cup s 2
Allergen source: Major taxonomic group: Plantae Pinopsida
Order: Cupressales
Species: Cupressus sempervirens (Common cypress)
NCBI Taxomony ID: 13469
Biochemical name:Polygalacturonase
MW(SDS-PAGE):43 kDa
Allergenicity:sera from 19 of 31 subjects with airway allergy in areas exposed to Common cypress (Curessus sempervirens) were positive to a 43 kDa protein based on immunoblots. The protein was characterized and demonstrated to be highly identical to Jun a 2 (~95% identity) and to Cha o 2 (80%).

Ten reads of LC-MSMS produced 33 overlapping peptides with high identity match to a homologous protein from Cupressus arizonica and to Juniperus ashei, with >74% coverage. Edmand degradation was used to identify the N-terminus. That sequence was submitted to UniProt as C0HKB1, which is not yet posted. Note the IgE binding to this protein in Allergy 2017 72(11):1806 shows total inhibition with bromelain. In addition, the sequence entered here and UniProt indicates many gaps as this was LC/MSMS

Note that the Uniprot entry for the protein sequence shows a number of gaps between peptide segments, and BLAST to the nearest sequence suggests that there are many gaps. Thus the UniProt sequence C0HKB1 is likely to be wrong.
