Allergenicity: | Seven of 19 subjects with allergy and rhinitis to house dust mite and/or cockroach or shrimp were tested for by SPT to whole body extract of Aedes aegypti mosquito. When their sera were tested by ELISA to recombinant protein, with the seven having positive IgE binding by ELISA out of the 19. Five negative controls did not have binding to this ELISA. This data suggests IgE sensitization and possible allergy. Exposure may be by injection or may be by inhalation |
