Allergenicity:Fifty-eight P. acerifolia-sensitized patients with allergic rhinitis in spring were tested. All has positive SPT and sIgE (measured by ImmunoCAP) to plane tree pollen extract. Of those 24 (41%) had serum IgE to purified natural Pla a 7, measured by ELISA. IgE binding to natural and recombinant Pla a 7 was confirmed by IgE immunoblot with 5 Pla a 7-sensitized sera. nPla a 7 was also tested by BAT and activated basophils from all three tested Pla a 7-sensitized patients.
